 What's New for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator?

The Jeep Gladiator falls into the midsize pickup truck class, but it notably has the added ruggedness and functionality that Jeep SUVs are known for. This popular model has impressed drivers in the Dickson area since it was released in 2019. For 2021, it remains a first-generation model, but it has an important update that is not found in the 2020 or 2019 versions. The first two versions of the Gladiator were only manufactured with one powertrain. This was a gas-powered V6 engine that produces 285 horsepower. The engine is offered in conjunction with either a manual transmission or an eight-speed auto transmission. For 2021, a 260-horsepower V6 engine that has an enhanced torque rating is available as well. The diesel engine is available in all trim levels except the top Mojave trim level, and it is only offered with an automatic transmission. The cube-like design language that the Wrangler is known for is prominent on the 2021 Gladiator as well. The Gladiator shares many other exterior traits with the Wrangler. These include a bar-style grille, rounded headlights, removable doors, soft and hard roof options, and a fold-down windshield. The Gladiator stands apart with its 5-foot bed at the rear. If you choose to drive the base Gladiator Sport, your truck will have an eight-speaker audio system, a USB port, cruise control, and manual functions for the windows and door locks.

If you opt for a mid-level trim, your Gladiator may have Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 7-inch display screen, larger wheels, powered functionality for the door locks and windows, auto headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and several USB ports. The Mojave is the top trim level for 2021. It has Fox shock absorbers, a spray-in bedliner, a tow hitch, a suspension lift, an Alpine sound system, leather material, and a larger display screen in the center stack.
