Performance
There's no doubt the Renegade outperforms the Trax for 2020. First, the 2020 Renegade is offered in four trim levels with two engine options; the 2.4 liter 4-cylinder and the 1.3 liters, 4-cylinder. In comparison, the Trax only provides a 1.4 turbo-charged, Ecotech engine, which isn't great for off-road capabilities. The Trax's base trim doesn't offer AWD, but all trim levels of the Renegade do. In terms of towing, the Renegade can out tow the Trax by 500lbs. The 2020 Jeep Renegade has towing capacities of 2,000lbs, while the 2020 Chevy Trax maxes out at 1,500 lbs.
Comfort
With more trim options than the Trax, the Renegade offers more comfort levels to shoppers. The Renegade also has more available cubic feet than its competitor and is easy to get in and out of for passengers and drivers. Features such as leather upholstery and captain seating are available in higher trims for the Renegade and Trax. Still, the Renegade introduces those features at a lower price than the Trax.
Exterior
At first glance, the aggressively-styled Renegade looks just like a classic Jeep, which many compact SUV shoppers enjoy. The 2020 Chevy Trax is more simplistic in design. Renegade trim packages offer 16", 17" or 18" steel wheels. The Trax offers 16" or 18" aluminum wheels. From the exterior, you already know the Renegade is better equipped to provide off-road capabilities than the Trax.
