2021 Jeep Compass vs 2020 Jeep Compass

Serving Dickson, TN

The Compass is Jeep’s popular compact crossover SUV that takes design cues from the larger Cherokee and Grand Cherokee models. For 2021, the Jeep Compass continues to be a second-generation version. Although it is a mid-generation version, the 2021 Compass introduces a few exciting updates to elevate its appeal.

Performance

When you compare the 2020 and 2021 Jeep Compass trim levels, you will immediately discover that the manual transmission in select 2020 trim levels has been deleted in 2021. The 2.4-liter, four-cylinder gas engine is the only option across both model years, and it generates 180 horsepower. Front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive are uniform throughout most trim levels as well. The exception is the Trailhawk trim. The Compass Trailhawk has all-wheel drive as standard equipment in 2020 and 2021. For both model years, select trims also have a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and a skid plate for boosted functionality.

Appearance

The majority of the Compass’s exterior design elements and features are unchanged between 2020 and 2021, but Jeep introduces the 80th Anniversary trim level to the mix. This trim level adds unique badging with dramatic coloring. A rectangular theme defines the Compass’s exterior through the grille, flat yet angled surfaces, chrome accents, raised roof rails, practical body molding, steel or alloy wheels, and more.

Features

The interior and exterior features in the 2020 Compass are identical to the 2021 version’s features. However, the Limited and Trailhawk trims for 2021 now have a few other safety technologies. As you walk up the trim line, the 2020 and 2021 Jeep Compass both have a 7-inch or 8.4-inch touch display screen, multiple USB ports, a dual-zone auto temperature control system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, keyless ignition, satellite radio, and other equipment.
