You can choose between two powertrains for the 2022 Gladiator. These are a 3.6-liter, V6, 285-horsepower engine and a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel, V6, 260-horsepower engine. A six-speed manual transmission is paired with the first powertrain. An eight-speed transmission is standard with the second powertrain and an option for the first powertrain. In some or all of the 2022 Gladiator’s trim levels, you will also find functional equipment like all-terrain tires, front and rear locking differentials, Fox shock absorbers, and a two-speed transfer case. On the other hand, the RAM 1500 for 2022 is offered with three gas engines and the same turbo-diesel engine in the Gladiator. The three gas engines are a V6 hybrid, a standard V6, and a standard V8. In premium trim levels, a few higher-level features are available or included.

Appearance

The Jeep Gladiator is closely styled after the popular Wrangler SUV. It has a 5-foot cargo bed at the back and a bar-themed grille and rounded headlamps at the front. The Gladiator has a boxed-off look with tall, flat surfaces on the sides and a flat roof. Like the Wrangler, the Gladiator’s roof is removable. At the front and rear, the Gladiator has hard-molded bumpers for functionality. In comparison, the RAM 1500 truck has greater curvature over the hood and across the nose. A linear scoop also accents the sides. The grille design is trim-specific, but all trims have rectangular headlights. These lights are accompanied by upper and lower LED light bars.

Features

Differences between the 2022 Jeep Gladiator and the RAM 1500 continue inside their cabins. All or some of the Gladiator’s trim levels are packed with equipment like smart device integration, an Alpine sound system, rear privacy glass, an auto-dimming rear mirror, a navigation system, a heads-up display, parking sensors, a front camera, heated seats with leather upholstery and adaptive cruise control. The RAM 1500 is outfitted with vinyl, cloth, or leather material, depending on the trim.
