These both are tied to a nine-speed auto transmission. Select higher trims with an off-road suspension, an upgraded four-wheel drive system, and an upgraded engine cooling system. The 2023 Grand Cherokee has three available powertrains. The standard engine is a 293-horsepower, V6, 3.6-liter system with rear-wheel. The two optional engines come with four-wheel drive, which is a 375-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder PHEV, and a 357-horsepower, V8, 5.7-liter gas engine. All Grand Cherokee trims have an eight-speed auto transmission.

Appearance

While these Jeep crossovers have the brand’s identifiable bar-style grille and square wheel wells, they are individualized from bumper to bumper. The 2022 Cherokee has dark, thick molding from bumper to bumper with sleek definition across its panels. The triangular headlights have an angled LED light bar that points toward the grille. The 2023 Grand Cherokee has boxier features, including through the roof and nose. The rigid pinstripe on the sides also has an edgy design. The rectangular headlights connect to the grille and sit over squared-off foglight portals. The lower-front fascia has a beefy quality thanks to its size and dark finish.
