For several decades, the RAM 1500 has been the full-size truck to beat, and it continues to hold its own against the competition in the 2022 model year. This half-ton truck has been enhanced with several impressive improvements this year. One of its most notable updates is the introduction of the G/T package. This package is offered exclusively with the Laramie and Rebel trims, and it adds an upgraded exhaust system, a console-mounted shifter, a cold air intake port, and paddle shifters to the mix. The BackCountry Edition is offered for the first time in 2022 as an off-road-ready option. The 2022 model year also debuts the top-of-the-line Limited trim level. It comes with unique badging, fine interior materials, and an exclusive blue exterior color option.
Across the expansive trim line, the 2022 RAM 1500 is offered with an array of powertrains. One option is a 395-horsepower, Hemi V8 engine that is paired with an automatic transmission. A diesel V6 engine is also offered, and it delivers 480 pound-feet of torque with a 12,750-pound towing capacity. If you select the RAM 1500 Raptor, your truck will give you 702 horsepower behind the wheel. Some RAM 1500 trucks have an air suspension system, remote start, and all-wheel drive for added functionality.
