2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Serving Dickson, TN

Since its inception, the Grand Cherokee has made a name for its itself as a rugged off-road vehicle. Now, its classic, hardy build is paired with a state-of-the-art, contemporary cabin that offers the latest in technology, amenities, and creature comforts. The 2020 Grand Cherokee and 2019 Grand Cherokee are primarily the same vehicles with very few changes from one model year to the next. The 2019 Grand Cherokee, however, got a mid-cycle refresh with some updates to its exterior styling. In 2020, the Grand Cherokee is only available as a gasoline-powered vehicle. A diesel version is no longer offered. Most of the differences that you'll find in the Grand Cherokee are based on trim level rather than the model year. Each trim includes a list of standard features with more add-on amenities and packages available as you progress up the line. A total of two engines are available to provide the power and towing capacity you need in the 2020 model year, while the 2019 Grand Cherokee has a slightly more diverse mechanical lineup.

Performance

The base engine on the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a 3.6L V6. This engine features start-stop technology to save on fuel. This engine produces just under 300 HP and 260 LB-FT of torque. This engine's power output increases to 360 HP and 390 LB-FT of torque. Its towing capacity jumps to 7,200 pounds. Next is a 6.4L V8 with launch control that produces 475 HP and 470 LB-FT of torque. The top engine is a supercharged 6.2L V8 that generates 707 HP and almost 650 LB-FT of torque. All engines are paired with an automatic transmission. The 2020 Grand Cherokee does away with the optional diesel engine.

Appearance

The Grand Cherokee has an equally athletic and polished appearance. A mix of wheel sizes and styles ranging from 17 inches to 20 inches provides many options for a custom look. Bright LED headlights make both models safer and more stylish. You can also upgrade to bi-xenon bulbs for better visibility and LED lights in back for an all-around sharp look. A sporty shark fin antenna adds a unique touch to both model years. In the front, functional red tow hooks add a bit of adventure-ready style to the Grand Cherokee. A variety of trim levels means your Grand Cherokee's cabin can be as basic or as extravagant as you'd like.

Features

With many standard and available safety features, the 2020 and 2019 Grand Cherokee models are made to protect you and your passengers.
