The journey kicks off on Route 70, starting specifically in Memphis. You'll stop around in places like Jackson, Lexington, and Cookeville. They are all incredibly iconic in the history of music in America. You'll find plenty to do, and plenty to eat, too. This drive will end in Nashville, which we don't need to explain to you, since it very much speaks for itself and its place in music history.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Tennessee is the kind of place that has something for everyone, and we can't recommend driving through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park enough. You'll be starting in either Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, and then you will go straight through this national park. You can even take a break to hike some of the trails, and enjoy the views that are a can't miss highlight. We highly recommend Cades Cove Loop Road as one of the biggest highlights of this trip, one that we recommend you take your time with.
Tennessee River Gorge
While we know that not everyone can make it to the actual Grand Canyon, Tennessee has a great alternative for you to consider visiting. We're talking about the Tennessee River Gorge, which many people call the "Grand Canyon of Tennessee". This is located right between Hales Bar Marina and Chattanooga, and will give you views of rocky cliffs, forests, and of course, the river. It may not be the real Grand Canyon, but we promise that the views or something that you will never forget, and you don't even have to leave the state to experience it!
